R.C. McBride

Bio

Originally from Danville, Illinois, R.C. first came to Normal as an Illinois State student in 1993 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, settling here permanently in 1997. He worked at WJBC as a reporter, talk show host, severe weather anchor, and program director until 2012. From there, he moved to Illinois State as Assistant Director of University Marketing and Communications (overseeing trademark licensing, social media, and video production) before heading across campus to head up WGLT’s business operations in 2017. He is married to Christy, with whom he has three daughters. As a lifelong Cubs fan, he firmly believes optimism pays off...eventually.
