Shepard Park History In December 2007, the Town of Normal accepted 14 acres of land from the Shepard family as a result of the 2000 annexation. A final plat for the park was created in January 2008. Shepard Park was dedicated on October 8th, 2011 in honor of the Shepard family with a ribbon cutting ceremony making it the newest park within the Town of Normal. Since then, the park has gone through several projects to provide the Town with amenities such as ball diamonds, pavilion restrooms, playgrounds and the Town’s second dog park. It has enhanced the recreation and leisure lifestyles of residents. Located at: 705 Hershey Rd.
